So I just found out that one of my FAVORITE people was on the Today Show this morning....NO, it wasn't Will Ferrell. YES, I'm still obsessed with him. I honestly can't believe I haven't blogged about him yet but trust me I will.
I've had tennis on my mind this week. I'm in a complete A.D.D. and O.C.D. mode...a crazy, loony, spitfire I am this week. I just returned from the "Mack Newton" of tennis where there was a lot of yelling, screaming, cussing (on my party) and running going on so I'm pretty JACKED up even more. Anyways, I just walked through the door and watched this video....a BIG SIGH came out. I think I've ordered my family around this week like "The Drill Sargeant", I just left. Anyways, I thought I'd throw this video up because she's always a breath of fresh air...WITH a bit of corkiness about her that I LOVE! Maybe you'll be inspired also.

Inspiration
There are alot of people in my life that inspire me and I'm sure I'll write about them sometime...but I have to mention two people that inspired me to start my blog. The first would be Toni Chase. Yes, the writer of The Chase Gang, I mentioned her in my first blog. She have a very cute, fun blog. But she also has a quote that I love. The quote is by Gordon B. Hinckley, President of the LDS, although I'm not Mormon...it doesn't matter everyone has experiences. Toni says she blogs because of this quote and I have to agree with her...it inspired me.
Gordon B. Hinckley -"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience."
The second person that inspired me was Kelly Corrigan author of The Middle Place & Lift. My friend, Megan gave me her first book to read...a memoir of her fight against cancer. Of course, I loved it because she is a cancer survivor like me! But more importantly I connected with her. Her book although sometimes sad was funny...I laughed and laughed at her stories. I mean there are alot of people that have or have had cancer so I know it wasn't just about that...it was more the way she writes like she speaks, her honesty and bluntness about life.
My friend Cathy asked me to join her at a reading of Kelly's new book Lift. She brought the book over to me so I could read it before we went to listen to Kelly. It's written as a letter to her children. What a great idea! It was filled with childhood stories and motherhood experiences. Every parent wants their kids to have "a decent childhood, more good memories than bad, some values, a sense of a tribe, a run at happiness." she says. So since I'm not a writer and haven't written a book, yet...my blog inspiration came from Toni & Kelly. Thank You both! Julie on Jokake's blog...something my kids, family, friends and even myself can look at all my experiences and grow and share.

I'm Finally Here...
So this is my first blog...for me it's like Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" or Neil Armstongs Walk On The Moon. Bottom line, it's an HISTORIC MOMENT FOR ME. I'm not that computer savvy and my blog sight isn't very cute like Toni Waite Chase's (TheChaseGang) but I'm Finally Here......
Now the real question I ask myself is why? I'm not sure. I love to look at my friends pictures, sometimes all the cute home decorating ideas, the vacations I dream about. I'm a facebook junkie. I enjoy seeing what's going on in my friends worlds. I hate talking on the phone and love that I don't have to now. I have a lot on my mind. I'm pretty sure I have ADD. I also have OCD, according to Doug. The stuff I think about is mostly stupid stuff, stuff I find funny, current event stuff, kid stuff, parent stuff and believe it or not "grown-up" stuff. I'm finally 40, guess that's the magic number according to some of my older friends, I'm officially grown-up. So you'll see on here whatever is going on in my life at the moment.
I don't know how long I'll do this. I might hate it. It might be my next favorite thing after tennis, drinking and you know...other "grown-up" stuff. I'll have to see. You can expect about anything from me. Hopefully it'll be appropriate for my kids to see.
I'm just happy, I'm Finally Here....
